As much as Ky protects everybody else, they try to do their best to protect him in turn (usually from outside disturbances, occasionally from himself). They just have to be very sneaky about it, because if Ky finds someone fussing over him, he will stop relaxing and try to work harder.
XD Although I like whumping my characters, I wouldn't have been able to kill off someone I'd grown so fond of. Plus, it would have just resulted in a very sad Ky and that is just not good.

Just to be sure (because my english sucks like that), the beginning was just a memory, right? Something that happened in the war? If not, please tell me because then I will need to read it yet again xD
Anyway, it was a nice chapter, from Lara's regret to Andreyev's recuperation.
Good work!... And happy new year!
Pd: sorry about any mistakes, as always xD

Yes, you're absolutely right, the beginning is a memory that surfaces as a dream of sorts for Ky. I was deliberately trying to be a bit confusing, since Ky's sense of reality is a bit jumbled due to taking on those missiles. (Poor Ky, all he gets are memory snuggles... for now. XD)
Thank you very much, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
PS: Hey, you're fine. No worries. :)

They do. Love each other, I mean. Not that they'd ever admit it, mind you, but they do. I like writing relationships where nothing needs to be said, you can just feel the bond even if they snark and rough-house and have disagreements. (Between you and me, I have never seen two people be so frighteningly sappy over mutual death threats. XD)
Poor Sol, he has Issues with a capital "i". I'll get into his screwy logic in the future... they both have difficulties needing somebody else, but all in all, Ky's the one who's so bent on self-improvement that he would recognize it in himself, at least. He'll just have to work hard to change Sol's mind.*laughs* Glad you liked that. I imagine the Kiske-Badguy thing was something of an open secret in the army; just something nobody questioned, because The Big Angry Thing was keeping the Commander alive and the Commander was keeping everyone else alive and this was A Good Thing ( ... )
