This was really moving, well-written, and perfectly IC. I really liked it :)

Glad you liked it. Red Side packs a real punch, but also says or implies so much, character-wise. As sad as it is for Sol, it's Kliff whom I feel for the most in this AU, losing two kids forever.

\o/ If it has your approval, then I'm happy. The sad thing about it, though, is that ultimately, Sol's been demoralized just like everyone else, if in a different way. The only reason he's even trying so hard is because of that plea.

Ow. I tell you what, just OW! You really hurt for Sol here. But even so it's still kinda awesome because how well Sol knows Ky and also the ending... damn politicians, you go Sol.

And you just know that if Sol had done this while Ky was alive he'd grouch and grumble but secretly be snerking at everyone's faces and having a grand time.

Yeah, Sol lost something very important when Ky died. Red Side never fails to make me tear up at that point. Still, I'm glad you like the fic, despite the sadness.

Oh, no doubt. In a more lighthearted context, he'd totally bully them and enjoy it, too. Shoot spitballs. Booby-trap the coffee machine. Make head-squeezing motions with his thumbs. XD Ky'd have such difficulties keeping him in line.
