like attaching wheels to your bed.

i am back in good old x-town.
that is pretending like i havent been back here way too much already. i will be here for a month, and then i plan on being gone until easter, and its going to be great. i'm going to meet more new people too, because of classes. plus scott will be there with precious halo 2 and i'll have my gamecube at that point.
so yeah though, home.
its pretty cool, i guess. i wasnt terribly thrilled when i got here, but when i went to best buy i got a 25 foot networking cable, so i'm totally hooked up to the internet in my room. dragging all of the different pieces of my computer home was a pain, but i can tell already that its going to be more than worth it. at some point i'll just have to gather some cash to buy a switch, so i'll be able to have the internet flowing into both computers at the same time.
seriously though, having the internet right next to your bed is an amazing thing. one minute you'll be cruising through the information superhighway, and the next you'll be unconscious. its like attaching wheels to your bed, or like falling asleep at the wheel and not having any consequences other than wonderful comfort and well-restedness. indeed.
so today was really long.
i took my logic test and think i actually did fairly well on it. i talked to meghan for a bit and kind of wished that i had been better friends with her. maybe i'll see her around next semester.
then there was cleaning and packing and getting lunch with meg and tim. that was fun.
then liz came by my room and i was so happy about it because she never comes and i didnt think i'd get to see her again before i left, and there was a knock on the door and it was her! i was so psyched. we hung out for a while and it was cool. then abbie stopped by to say goodbye as well.
then daddy-o showed up and we got my crap out and got subs and went back home, at which point i realized i still had to buy a GI Joe for the church christmas thing. so, i went to the bank, and ventured to newington with next to no gas in my tank. i got a sick toy for this kid, i hope he enjoys it. it talks and it has a huge gun and its really boss. he should be happy with it.
and while i was out i went to best buy and saw andrew simmons and it was wicked chill. i talked to him for ten or fifteen minutes, and got caught up on times. i guess him and a few of his buddies are extravagantly successful and raking in money like no one else our age. they started a photography business, and then coupled it with catering, and then added on a sound section, and now they're scheduling and doing shows for the palladium and stuff. they have an aerosmith show coming up in the summer. thats ridiculous. i saw jill kelley too, and she was cute as ever. it was cool seeing her; i didnt get a shot to talk to her when i was at little shop. hopefully i'll see her again before vacations over.
then there was looking for jake and matt but no one appeared to be home, so i ended up coming back here and just watching tv and stuff.
i watched an episode of pete and pete today entitled 'dont tread on pete,' and i realized that i think part of my love for the magnetic fields comes subconsciously.
right when the episode began there was music in the background. now, i knew that i'd heard similar stuff before on the show, but i always thought i was just crazy. this time, however, it definitely sounded like the magnetic fields, so much so that i could pinpoint the song. it played throughout the entire episode, then, surely enough, in the credits, there they were. the magnetic fields, written and composed by stephen merritt. sweet ups, there.
