Fixed and fettered, plaster gathered 'round the sap in 103. Clawed tub, prime ocean view, and a sullen sack of bones to wake to.

Not so long ago, all these halls were green and pulsed with every living thing in unison, and every living thing in turn would grin with every breath She breathed. And, when hardhats shuffled in with beams and nails and adhesive, one grateful living thing raised up his fist, in questioning, and then they built the whole damn place around him.

Fixed and fettered, plaster smothers the man inside my wall.
