[The 'Gear comes on a most intriguing scene of Charmeleon's eye looking, perhaps, as peeved as a Charmeleon ever could look. After a moment, Louis pulls away a bit from the camera to show the area around the Ecruteak Poké Mart

[Envy has been running around Ecruteak looking for everyone since earlier that day when the first people started getting their souls stolen. And he just so happens to be passing by the 'Mart to see France lying unconscious on the ground. If Envy has ever panicked before he is panicking now. He also doesn't really register Marianne right away because he is too busy having a heart attack, and starts hurrying towards France.]
[Marianne turns her head towards Envy at the shout, red eyes flashing and a definite manic look to her. She rears up, positively roaring before sending a Flamethrower towards Envy.]
[But he's pushing himself up again in a moment, looking more wary but still very much wanting to get to France.] The hell was that for?! Let me over there!
[Marianne makes a long keening sound no no no no no no - before starting to pace around France's body. She's not being logical about this, throwing Envy evil looks after each round.]
[Marianne lies on top of France, glaring at Envy, daring him to come closer. Help, he says. Oh, that's what they all say, but everyone wants something, this human no less than the others. No one can love France like she can.]
[Envy will take that dare and start walking forward again, deliberately and looking Marianne right in the eyes. He's tensed to get out of the way again if she tries another Flamethrower, but there's very little beyond actually being set on fire that will dissuade him.]
[Marianne roars, using Flamethrower again, but she doesn't aim it at all, and it sails far from Envy, setting a tree on fire. She keens afterwords, the sound not dissimilar from crying.]
If you want me to stay away, you'll have to kill me.
[He looks dead set determined on this as he continues to slowly move closer. Although his expression does shift a little at that keen, letting some of the worry and fear for France he's feeling show through.] Let me help.
[Marianne glares at Envy, but it's not so much anger towards him as upset. This is her France, and she's his; she should be able to take care of him. Why would he suddenly collapse when there's no enemy to be seen? What does Envy know that she doesn't know? She's not stopping him from approaching, but her entire body's language communicates that she's deeply on edge.]
[Envy continues to approach, more warily as he gets closer, until he's close enough to reach out and turn France's head so that his face isn't in the ground. He very much wants to take France and just hold him, but Marianne is decidedly in the way.]
Whatever those bugs are, they took his soul. Do you understand what that means?
[Bugs? What bugs? The human is lying. Everyone lies! Marianne opens her mouth to use Fire Blast but remembers briefly seeing something float by not long before France collapsed. Was that the bug? It was a pokemon, not quite a bug, but... Maybe the human isn't lying. Marianne closes her mouth and gives Envy a suspicious look, nodding slowly.]
[He'd barely arrived in Ecruteak before this began. He'd seen people passed out in the street; or not passed out, but gone, empty shells of themselves. And it was terrifying.
He had headed down to the Mart to collect some supplies, wondering if the rest of them should hole up until a solution was found, and then he saw it...
It was difficult to mistake the distinctive Pokemon, and more difficult still to mistake the one it was guarding.]
France!
[He starts forward, Gabriel and Spitfire at his side, because he's seen France in bad condition before, but not like this and it makes him feel sick.]
[Envy nearly jumps when he hears someone call for France behind him, and turns to see who it is, glaring warily. He sort of recognizes this guy; he's said things to him on the 'Gear once or twice.]
[Marianne snarls, her teeth bared at England. France has argued with that one on the 'Gear, she's pretty sure. Not as much as that ugly snake commander or that witch-woman, but she knows this one has said some unkind things. Her body language is back to STAY AWAY, crouching low and possessive over France's body.]
France! Hey!

[Envy just barely manages to get out of the way of that by diving to the side.]

How am I supposed to help him if you won't let me near him? [Nevermind that Envy has no idea what he could do to help.]
