Setting: Arabia is not from Earth (though his dogs were kidnapped from Earth,) he is from a world that consists of a flat plate of land, much like Discworld, and its central area is completely forested and is the domain of Nature and other supernatural creatures. Human civilization keeps around the edges and is connected by a train system. Balance and peace are societal tenants and the only violence occurs between rivaling witches. Much like Kiki’s Delivery Service each witch leaves their mentor to live in a city alone, and much like Highlander killing competitors will earn you their powers. Full witches kidnap children who then become their apprentices.

The witches of Arabia’s world are all varying degrees of ‘Neutral’ their first dedication is to the study and flow of magic, always. Some are more Good and Chaotic than others. Arabia is very close to ‘True Neutral’ with a small bias for his close friends and family. He will not rush to do the right thing if not doing so changes nothing.

He is not immortal, but the witches are more in tune with their bodies and they can expand their lifetimes and youth quite a bit. The especially aged may choose an illusion or glamour to hide their age.

Character History: Arabia is the youngest apprentice of a jungle witch who calls herself Futuna. It is a tradition of her family line to take the true names of magical practitioners and replace it with another name. The name is a key to the soul, so hiding it away keeps the witches safe, bound in a tight circle of trust with those who knew their name before it was changed. Arabia was only about two years old when he wandered from his true mother's home in the dead of night. His family lived in the City of the Sea, a coastal city built entirely from white stone. He made his way to a nearby park and the lake at its center and beneath the moonlight his spirit cried out. Futuna's sharp hunter's ears heard his call and she came for him. She spirited him away in the night, back to her home in the jungle.

Futuna already had an apprentice when this occurred, a devilishly powerful boy that she had found wandering alone in the jungle. She recognized his face from a vision she had once had and took him in, naming him Highland. Highland was not an ordinary human boy, though he and Futuna never spoke of his true nature. She taught him everything she knew, and by the time he was eleven he had mastered it all. So when Arabia then appeared on the scene, the toddler became as much Highland's apprentice as her own.

With both sources of knowledge around him, Arabia's studies go well. He is bright and he is determined, but from the beginning he takes after his 'brother', Highland, far more than he does after Futuna. Their 'mother' is a wild, uncivilized sort of woman, whereas both Arabia and Highland value order, cleanliness, propriety. Arabia particularly is a bit prissy and preening and earns himself the title of Ermine for his vanity. His brother Highland is the Snake for his serpent-green eyes, and dark, feral Futuna is, of course, the Panther.

Arabia acquires other nicknames as he grows up as well. Futuna affectionately begins to call him skila, which means bitch. Arabia also makes friends with a girl his age, Xue-Ya Du, who lives in the City of the Sea, working out of her grandfather's apothecary, which Arabia frequents. She calls him lulu, which means pearl, a nickname that Highland also takes up as Arabia grows and matures into a beautiful young man, polished and elegant.

By the time Highland is old enough to take leave of Futuna at 18, it is very clear that Arabia belongs to his brother, both as an apprentice and as a possession. Futuna allows Highland to take the younger boy with him on his journey. So they leave home together, relocating to a city of Highland's choosing. Several other witches join them, the students of Futuna's small group of trusted friends.

Lawrence is among them, a firelord that Arabia is drawn to. Fire is weakness of his, Arabia's element is most certainly water, a gift given to him from his birth in the City of the Sea. As Fallen said to him recently: "I ain't the one out playin' with fire all the time cause I don't have none of my own." They begin to grow close and Lawrence begins to suggest that Arabia leave his brother. However, it is very clear that if Arabia abandons his post as Highland's apprentice, his brother will move on in his own pursuits. Namely, he will kill Futuna and take her place and her power. Arabia is torn by his interest in the firelord, his desire for his independence, his loyalty to his brother, and his love for the witch who raised him.

It is in this tumultuous period that Arabia begins to act out, more bratty than usual, looking for some kind of distraction from the difficult decision in front of him. He starts by bringing mumdies and w-oapplause home--(the specifics of their story is put in more detail in the applications available on their journals.) They are distraction enough, until Arabia encounters burntoobright. The golem insults him and has the same heart of fire as Lawrence. Arabia becomes tempted to consider the creature a replacement for the firelord who has caused him so much strife. Arabia is unable to break the magics binding Fallen to his fellow golems, and so he goes to Highland for help. His brother spoils him terribly and agrees to help him make the acquisition.

He kidnaps Fallen, and is quite pleased with him, although a careless comment made by the stupid golem causes a rather inconvenient fight between Tinkerbell and Bambi. This fissure in the pack sees Bambi lingering at Arabia's side and, oddly enough, allows time for dog and master to bond. However pleasant that may be, when Lawrence and Fallen finally have their introduction, the firelord takes pity on Fallen and decides that he wants Arabia to return the golem to his family. His attempts to see it done wear on Arabia's heart, and eventually he gives in.

He releases the spell on the golem and sends him home, though the reality of how much sway Lawrence holds over him turns Arabia's mood sullen and unhappy. To the point that when his dogs go out on their little sojourn looking for Fallen, Arabia is not moved to bring them home immediately. By this point, Arabia has truly begun to consider leaving Highland's side in earnest, but his feelings begin to be swayed once more during the month that the dogs are away.

It is Highland who convinces him not to abandon his role as the dogs' master and to retrieve them when their little quest is finished. His care for the creatures cements their loyalty to him, and he has noticed the way they linger around him, trying to cheer him up. His affection for the stupid dogs has grown as well.

He is still left with an important decision to make. Futuna has seen her future, she knows Highland is going to kill her, but Highland continues to hold a small certainty that Arabia will remain his.

Personality:
Arabia’s greatest defining trait is his vanity. He is a beautiful young man, truly looking like some creature from the sea stepped straight out of a storybook. He knows this, he flaunts this. He surrounds himself with beautiful things thusly. He keeps the talents of a very accomplished lady, he can sing, cook, play piano, dance, paint, converse, etc. He loves to show off, he loves to be shown off. He takes an enormous amount of pleasure in being one of his brother's possessions, feeling like Highland's crowning jewel. With all this vanity comes haughtiness and arrogance. He sees himself as being better than everyone around him, in one way or another. Be it looks, intelligence, or skill, and he is duly mocking and condescending. This certainty, and the certainty that his brother won't allow anything to happen to him, sees Arabia running his mouth a bit more than he should and that gets him into trouble. He has been arrogant enough to mouth off to the likes of gods.

This is the face he show to the outside world, but when alone or in the company of his brother, he is a much quieter presence. He is a very pensive and solitary sort of person who takes most of his pleasure in the arts. He paints, plays piano, gardens, reads, writes, and while all of these things can serve a dual purpose as skills to be shown off, he also enjoys doing them for his own sake. He sees magic as an art as well, and he pursues it with the same interest and intensity as the more pedestrian arts. Arabia is not the sort of artist who believes in the community of art, however. He doesn't really believe that anyone's vision of beauty will ever really overlap, he has no interest in popular music that inspire to masses to dance, or in art museums where many people gather. His experience of art is very private, even if he may be willing to show off the results afterward. The fact that he was willing to tattoo Tinkerbell and Bambi, and thus put his art directly onto their skin says quite a great deal for how far their relationship has progressed from when he first kidnapped them.

This bent for privacy makes Arabia a rather difficult person to befriend, as if his outward arrogance were not difficult enough to bypass. He is, however, very loyal once his affection has been won. He would gladly lay down his life for his family or his friends (few as they are) and even though their relationship has taken time to develop, he would also do anything in his power to protect his dogs. While not exactly a good person, Arabia is certainly not evil or even outwardly manipulative, just very self-centered, more interested in his own inner world and thoughts than he is in anyone else. He can, however, be petty and vindictive--(which should be obvious from the way he casually kidnapped Tinkerbell, Bambi, and Fallen, just because they offended him)--when insulted and his neutral alignment has often had Fallen commenting on his cold-heartedness, as Arabia is not prone to empathy, ever, at any point.

Arabia's greatest aspiration currently is to thrive away from his brother. Both Highland and Futuna love Arabia unconditionally, and while he enjoys their pampering he has a deep desire to do something to earn that care, something he doesn't really feel like he can do with Highland's safety net always beneath him. He desires power and self-sufficiency so that he can one day return to his brother and be an even more valuable asset than he is now. Arabia really, truly, does not respect anyone other than Highland and Futuna, and thus their regard is the scale by which he measures everything with no regard for anyone else's opinion.

Extra:
Character Abilities: As a witch there are a variety of spells he can cast, varying in types from spoken, to ritualized, to brewed. The magic he, Highland, and Futuna use focuses mostly around word play, symbolism, and allegory and superstition. For example, unwinding a curse involves a concoction of raw eggs (breaking the shells like breaking a curse), dried spiders (spiders weave webs like the weaving of the curse), salt (a standard of purification), and the blood of either a powerful enough magic user, or someone involved in the curse other than its bearer.

Separated from him world, much of his ‘unspoken’ spells will be off-limits as well as his world-changing ones (weather, earthquakes, etc which were major conjurations even in his own world), leaving him with Macbeth-style brews that require time and the right ingredients, and minor spells (things that can come from his hands/mouth/body such as healing, burning, poison, etc).

To describe the power of those, the best way would be to say they're single target as opposed to area of effect. For the sake of the game I would also say he cannot effect death, either by stopping it or directly causing it with his magic.

Possessions: Clothes on his back.
Anything else: He’s such a bitchy little princess.
