money, money, money

today was a great, great day.

it started off with me being awakened by the suz to tell me that aunt sue was on the phone. i later met her and claire at the train station where we started our adventurous shopping day. now we get on the train and there was no room to sit so claire sat on my lap. it was fun. ive never seen the train that packed.

we started with going to marshall fields on state street. while aunt sue was buying shoes the lady looked at me and claire and then was like where did your girls get their hair from. and sue was like umm their dad. so that was hilarious. apparently me and claire have the same dad....

we got sick of that and decided to go to armitage. we spent 30 minutes looking for a cab because there was like this natural phenomenon of the entire city being cabless. ive never seen anything like it. so we made our way to barney's co op which was an utter dissapointment, and then we went to ethel's chocolate cafe which was nothing less than delicious.

finally we made our way to julias fashion show. all the clothes were beautiful of course. we wouldnt expect anything less from our little designer. we met the fashion posse. they were both interesting and scarry. pascal was mia which was a dissapointment because i would have liked to meet her because apparently she was mistaken for a boy in 1st grade sex ed and has never been the same since.

FINALLY THE BEST PART COMES: DINNER we went to the italian village which was kind of like a miniature disney world. we had this waiter, who whenever he would come by would give us a little lesson on life. one being that there are only 3 things important in this world...money, money, and money. he also had a striking reseblence to george clooney. the man was slightly crazy. naturally everytime he walked past the table julia would start screaming and he would start screaming and then claire and i would just stare at him and then he'd be like mmm i can tell who the shy ones are at home. and then he was like do you do your laundry? i dont know it was just weird.

after that delicious dinner we made our way back to uncle mickey's office where we sat and jenni's desk and left about a million post it notes surrounded everything. i even put one on her giant container of vasaline that said 'i used this <3 rebecca' it was classy as hell. then we spent 30 minutes reflecting on life in uncle mickey's office when he showed us all of the childhood memoribilia from claybins, al, and julia. claires poetry was striking. i'll leave you with an excerpt...

stockbroker:
'youre the best stockbroker ever, you even get a sky box for the bears'
(note: uncle mickey isnt a stockbroker)

i bid you farewell. love, rebecca
