Shakespeare Plays, Ended Friendships, and Other Such Fun

So today (technically yesterday now) I went to see a performance of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, put on by students in Uni Bremen's English- & American-Studies Drama Group. It was pretty awesome and very funny. I was really impressed by the cast; Shakespeare is fairly difficult for native speakers, and the actors not only had to learn lines not in their native language, but also act it out. They did a pretty amazing job in my opinion. One of my favorite parts was when one of the characters, Malvolio, is being tricked into believing that his employer, Olivia, is secretly in love with him via a forged love letter. He sees the letter and recognizes the handwriting as Olivia's, and says, "These are her C's! Her U's! Her N's! Her T's!" I think a lot of people in the audience didn't get the joke, but the people I was with (mostly native English speakers, though a few Germans too) completely cracked up.
In other news, I think I've successfully lost a friend, and while that was my intention, I still feel kind of bad about it. I met this guy in my language intensive course back in February. We sat next to each other and always worked together for partner activities. Our whole class went out for drinks one night, and after a few beers, he and I ended up making out. At this point I realized I was not at all attracted to him, so next class, I told him that we were just friends. He seemed to take this fine, and I felt much better. After I started uni and stopped going to language class, he started texting and calling me a lot. While I did like hanging out with him, his texts started creeping me out. He kept calling me "mein Liebchen" or "mein Schatz," which translates to "my (insert pet name here)" and saying how much he missed me (we were just partners in class, for God's sake!). I think the last straw for me was when he texted me at 6 AM when I was visiting my friend in Italy. The text translates roughly to, "Hey, honey. How are you? Can you please send me a little kiss? I miss you. Are you back in Germany yet? You know I love you. See you soon." Er...is it just me, or does that kind of sound like we're dating? So I was severely creeped out and annoyed at being woken up at 6 AM, and never got back to him. He finally stopped calling and texting me, which makes me feel relieved and a little guilty. He was a nice guy in person, but just way too creepy. But at least I don't have to deal with that anymore.
In happier news, my friend from home is probably going to come visit me at the end of the month! I haven't had anyone come visit me from the US yet, so that'd be pretty awesome. Also, my program is going on a trip this weekend to Dresden, Leipzig, Weimar, and Wartburg. We're also taking a trip south in two weeks (not sure which cities yet), and I'm planning to get to Amsterdam in early July. Hooray for travel!
