(no subject)
It makes me really upset when people kill bugs without a thought just because they're pests and they're there. Like, I've washed bugs down the tub before when mum's not there to get rid of them for me, but I do so extremely reluctantly (having to thoroughly evaluate my predicament, wondering whether it would be feasible to shower with the bug sitting there in the corner, which I have tried on occasion, but it never works out) and feel extremely guilty afterwards.
I'd much rather have a bug moved away from me than have it killed on my behalf. If it's not a particularly menacing looking bug and a fair enough distance away from me... and if it's not the flying sort, I am usually/sometimes perfectly content to let it sit there peacefully. I don't know how people can take enjoyment in squishing ants or salting snails or torturing spiders... it's just not nice...
