Ideal thoughts and other stuff
The sad death of some actors son who had epilepsy (the son, not the actor) who was also a Scientologist (the actor, and maybe the son) rekindled my interest in Scientology, which means scanning the web for an old "South Park" episode so I can remember the doctrine (and a quick look at The Source of All True Knowledge ... Wikipedia). Got me to thinking about what a Scientology Theocracy would be like. I believe it would be a democracy with lots of images of L. Ron all over the place and Tom Cruise as President. Since all depression is the result of confusion about where my soul came from I think they would do away with psychologist. Schizophrenia would be the result of too many souls in one body and the government would fund research into "Thetan- Meat Body Splitters" to extract the excess souls. Until that was perfected, there would have to be a "one soul-one vote" policy allowing schizophrenics to vote as many times as they have souls (personalities). Might actually make for a better government and would explain why Tom Cruise is President.
On a more substantive note, just at home enjoying the Weekend. Wish got the Sims 2 and she has been trying to figure it out. I sit on the other side of the room listening to a combination of Latin elevator music and mumbled conversations that you can never quit make out what is being said. I have been trying to change mods from researching history, psychology, sociology,and democratic theory to preparing for my deployment job as a Battalion Executive Officer (BN XO). Much less esoteric but in certain ways more fulfilling. More practice, less theory. Also need to clean the carpets today, drive to Fort Shafter to get some throw rugs, and take care of the one armed wonder who seems to be healing nicely. And of course there are the puppies.
That is enough rambling from me for now. I was going to complain about how cold it is here (down into the mid 60's last night ... Brrrrrr) but I thought I would bet no sympathy after what Mer wrote.
