Yes, it's begun. Innocent people are being thrown into prison purely for political reasons. I'd hoped that this sort of thing had gone out of style with the old Soviet Union. Or South Africa during Apartheid. Sadly, no.

(Sorry for the monsterously long post, but I feel this is the wrong step in the fight against Bush, and if people take a minute to think calmly about it, people will realize that "doing evil things for a good cause" will have serious consequences for America long after Bush and the Neocons are out of power. If you're a "Bush is 110% pure evil and anyone remotely connected to him must be utterly destroyed type" feel free to just skip this. If you're someone who is able to think beyond your hatred, read on.)

People, this isn’t a “win” for our side. As much as we detest Bush, Mr. Libby shouldn’t have his life ruined simply because he works for someone that most people hate.

SOME BACKGROUND:

In the initial “leak” trial, it was proven that no laws were broken in discussing that Valerie Plame worked at the CIA. Mr. Libby was not convicted of violating any laws regarding the exposure of Valerie Plame. Actually, NO ONE was convicted of violating any laws regarding the exposure of Valerie Plame.

(The "leaker" of Plame's employment history has been identified as Richard Armitage. Special prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald has already stated that there will be NO CHARGES filed against Armitage. The revelation that Plame worked at the CIA was NOT A CRIME.)

Plame case CLOSED.
