Libby, former chief of staff for Cheney, was charged with two counts of perjury, two counts of making false statements and one count of obstruction of justice. He faces up to 30 years in prison and $1.25 million in fines. He will be sentenced in June.

Yes, it's begun. Innocent people are being thrown into prison purely for political reasons. I'd hoped that this sort of thing had gone out of style with the old Soviet Union. Or South Africa during Apartheid. Sadly, no ( ... )

Setting our political feelings aside for a moment, setting aside our justifiable anger at all the s##t that Bush and Cheney have done to this country - if Mr. Libby was your father or your husband or your brother getting locked away for the rest of his life, would you say that justice had been done? Or turning it around, if this were the Bush administration casually tossing an innocent man into prison for 30 years wouldn’t we all be TOTALLY OUTRAGED ( ... )
