My computer is stalling

It started with my wireless mouse, so I replaced it with my old mouse... there is a pinging sound going out through my speakers, which I believe is my hard drive crashing... not sure, because I know diddly squat about computers... it's time to get another one.  So, it's to the computer store to get another one rebuilt.

Gack... just when I need my computer the most.
