Icon meme.
1. Comment to this entry saying 'ICONS!' and I will pick 7 of your icons.
2. Make an entry in your own journal and talk about the icons I picked!

Okay, so here I go.

I'm pretty sure Hobbes needs no introduction, because a lot of people already know who he is. I've loved Calvin and Hobbes since practically forever, and his quote here is something that I often think to myself whenever weird/painful stuff happens to me. Not to mention that it reminds me of the discussion groups I have at university, since whenever it's about something from the Bible the discussion will always inevitably backtrack to "wow, Old Testament God sure is a jerk."

This thoughtful-looking fellow is Franz d'Epinay from Gankutsuou, which is basically The Count of Monte Cristo In Space. It is also one of my favourite anime series by far, so I recommend it. Anyway, Franz is the best friend of Albert de Morcerf, the main character of this series, who is totally gay for is fascinated with the mysterious figure known only as the Count of Monte Cristo, and tries to find out more about him throughout the series. Franz isn't so sure that this weird blue spaceman is as nice as he appears, but Albert is pretty naive, so he's convinced that the Count is the greatest thing ever and won't listen to Franz's warnings. It doesn't help that Franz is secretly in love with Albert, either. Poor guy.

This is Dug from the movie Up. No, really. terricsson roleplays Dug as a human somewhere (I don't roleplay myself, so I don't know much about this stuff) and one day when I was bemoaning my lack of icons, he was nice enough to let me have this one. The original lineart was drawn by azkun, whose art is awesome and I hope she won't shoot me if she knows that I've been using this.
Thanks, guys!

This is Celty and Shizuo from that new-fangled anime cartoon called Durarara!! I started watching this when I heard that it was by the same creator of Baccano!, another series I love. Durarara isn't quite as good as Baccano in my opinion, but I'm still enjoying it a lot. Celty is a Dullahan fairy from Ireland who is trying to find her missing head, and Shizuo is a loan shark's bodyguard with super strength and a monster temper that can be triggered by practically anything. They both have their troubles, so occasionally they get together and talk. I guess they've both just broken their brains while trying to think about something, idk. Their headtilting amuses me.

This is Prussia from Hetalia, and the icon is from a Hetalia MAD that's based on the first opening of Haruhi Suzumiya. Even though there isn't a lot of actual animation in it, I like it because it's really close to the original Hetalia style. There's another MAD by the same person which is a really well-animated Hetalia version of Hare Hare Yukai, which I also really like. Anyway, Prussia is filming something here, and knowing him, it's probably going to be used as blackmail material or something unscrupulous like that.

This is Gakupo. I needed a "shocked" icon, and I really liked this one. I can't help but wonder what he's so shocked about, though. It probably has to do with eggplants. Is an eggplant being taken away from him? Has he just been told that the world's supply of eggplants is going to be catapulted into the sun? Or has he learned that The Eggplant Is A Lie? We may never know.

This is Rin. I love that smug look that she has on her face. Probably because she has pocky and you don't. I guess that's as good a reason to be smug as any. We love you, Rin.
