Copyright/Credits Question
Imagine leafing through a comic book and suddenly you find a picture that displays the perfect Harry, Ron, Ginny etc. Recently, that seems to happen quite often to me and I'd love to icon these pictures, perhaps with minor alterations of hair and eye colour to fit JKR's descriptions.
My question is now - is that allowed? Is it enough to name (and perhaps provide a link to the original artist's homepage) the original artist and the place you got the picture from? I don't think that trying to contact a professional artist over such a trivial matter makes sense even though that's what I would do if I had the same thing in mind with a work drawn by a fanartist.
