SPN Gen Big Bang 2013 Art Masterpost: It's A Dog's Life

Oct 16, 2013 08:23

Summary: Set in 2005. After finishing the voodoo job in New Orleans, Dean should have gone to join John in Jericho, but decides to detour to Stanford to check in on Sam. He stumbles on a case and is cursed by a witch who turns Dean into a dog. Being adopted by Sam and Jess seems like a stroke of good fortune, but as all hunters know, there is no such thing as blind luck.
Rating: ...for the illustrations is G. The story has an R rating.
Warnings / Spoilers: One short dub-con scene between Brady and an OMC. The art post has some spoilers for the story!

Artist's Note: A big, big 'Thank you!' goes to the mods of the SPN Gen Big Bang! I alwas felt the the SPN-fandom is lucky to have so many talented authors who like some gen, because as much as I enjoy shipping, sometimes I just need a good gen-story. Thanks you ladies for making sure that this genre isn't neglected! ♥

Personally, I think I hit the jackpot when I was lucky enough to get to illustrate one of amber1960's stories. She's not only an incredible writer, but also a really sweet, kind and patient person and I've really come to appreciate you...even more than I did before. Seriously though, I feel like my pictures don't even do the story justice, because in my opinion 'It's A Dog's Life' is one of the best stories I've ever read in the fandom. It's both a pleasure and an honor to illustrate a work like that ♥

Link to Story: At least, he was still a badass, even if he was only two and a half feet tall and covered in fur.

"Dean didn't even protest when Sam wrapped him up in a fleecy blanket dotted with black paw prints before leaving Dean locked into the Pet hospital while Sam looked for the Impala, an indignity that would normally had had him yelling in disgust."

A short note on demon!Brady. I loved how amber made demons scary as hell again, so Brady needed (!) to be drawn. This picture is my first attempt at a new medium, chalk, in combination with black fineliner.
