Summary: Pre-series: When John is injured in a hunt, the Winchesters are forced to temporarily settle down until he heals. Instead of rest, they find a case: an Acheri demon is threatening the small town’s children. Struggling to find independence away from his father as a hunter, sixteen-year old Dean joins forces with a local hunter, a man who believes he was made to teach Dean how to become the perfect hunter and overcome Dean’s problem with fire. Unfortunately, Sam thoroughly distrusts Dean’s new mentor. However, when Sam is attacked by the demon, the forfeited soul of a young girl sacrificed by a town to end a virulent plague in Colonial America, Dean must race to find a way to kill the Acheri and decide if he wants to embrace the new life his mentor is laying out for him.
