Today has been, generally, a very good day. I got up and worked out, as well as came in just right on my diet for the day, so I feel very virtuous. I also got my 750 words written for novel_in_90, bright and early, picked up my holds at the library and therefore was able to enjoy several episodes of CSI:Miami Season Three. It just keeps raining here, and while it's better than last year's near drought conditions, it certainly is bogging us down! Luckily, my mother and I went for a walk bright and early this morning, since it was quite nice while we were out, but by the time I got out of the shower, it had started to pour! I've reached 20% on my novel_in_90 novel, which I figure means I'm on the right track. Some days the novel flows better than others, when it's more like pulling teeth than writing. That's just the way writing is, I guess. If it were all slogging through the mud, nobody would do it. It's those days when everything comes together that make the others worth it.

All right, enough is enough. I've spent almost a full week staying up until after one in the morning, only to sleep in and feel terribly groggy in the mornings. I'm seriously considering writing Congress because their new daylight savings plan has thrown me for a loop. I've gotten quite a bit accomplished today. I've never been a fan of spring cleaning, but fall cleaning always seems just right. Today, I went through my dresser and cleaned out a whole laundry basket's worth of exercise clothes, yoga pants and t-shirts. You can tell autumn is just around the corner. It was cool enough this morning that I actually turned the air up to workout, rather than down. I love this time of year, when all the signs of fall are appearing: the cool breezes with just a hint of woodsmoke, the changing leaves, the gourds and pumpkins outside the grocery store. My mother and I have been walking for about a week now. It's actually quite nice, even if it doesn't burn off as many calories as the stationary bike or elliptical trainer. We try to walk in the mornings, but sometimes we go in the evenings, as well. Our neighborhood has greenbelts, which almost give you the impression you're walking in a forest. ( Read more... )
