I had the house to myself today, which sounds like it should have been fun, right? Oh, no. First, we discovered at eight a.m. this morning that my mother's business partner had left their media projector at a school back in December. Thank heaven, it turned out the school still had it sitting in the library; this meant, however, that I had to drive over a half hour away to pick it up. I finally got back home to be confronted with piles of laundry. Between the laundry and trying to get a good workout in, it ended up being four in the afternoon. Then my father called, asking me to come to his office to help with his computer. I drive over there to discover that the vital piece of technology we need is in a box in our storage unit. I managed to get him to take me to Pappasito's for dinner, which was delicious; after that, though, we had to go to Wal-Mart and stock up on groceries because my mother is freaking out about the impending ice storm.
You know, I planned to spend this afternoon taking a long, hot bath. Sigh. Tomorrow, I must send my info to my reference letter writers and try to finish as much of the application as I can. This whole applying thing is tough! I just hope I get in at the end, because otherwise it will be a lot of work for naught.
