Buying Bargains

I forgot to mention that I ventured into the world of eBay this week. I tried bidding on a few things, only to get outbid so quick it almost made my head spin. I ended up having a rushed conversation with my mother outside the movie theater during the previews to figure out how much I was willing to spend (I ended up making them pay a lot more than they would have otherwise).

So, I bit the bullet and used the Buy It Now option to buy a lovely, lovely glass plate from Disneyland, circa the late 60s. It is the neatest little thing you've ever seen and it only cost me sixteen dollars with shipping, which was quite reasonable. I'm starting to get interested in collecting Disneyland memorabilia, but I don't want to spend too much money on it. My parents and I are headed up to the big sale in Canton tomorrow. There are always lots of antiques/old junk dealers, so I guess I'll have to do some digging and see if I can find anything. It would probably be easier if I were out in California, but it's fun having something to look for.

In a final note, I'm wearing a lovely soft cashmere-silk hoodie that I got for free! My mom did some shopping at the Chico's outlet in Meyerland and they had a wonderful BOGO sale which meant I get a soft sweater to wear. And since I love and collect every soft piece of clothing I can, it was a good deal. Actually, my mother got eight pieces of clothing for the regular ticket price of one piece. Not too bad! If only we could get deals like that every time we went shopping.

God, how did it get to be noon already? I've got to strip the bed and do some laundry, then clean up around the house before we leave tomorrow. Off I go!
