A Horrible, Rotten, No-Good Day

I hate to keep pushing my longer entry back, but today has been a bitch of a day. A really bad storm line came through the Houston area this morning, as I discovered when the alarm went off and I turned the TV on. Our power went out for several hours, which really screwed up our plans for the day. I ended up scrapping my morning install, since the school's phone was initially disconnected, then would ring for several minutes with no pick-up. Luckily, the power came back on just as we were planning to go to a friend's house to dry our hair. Traffic was a mess, however, and I haven't done any highway driving in a while, so I was a mess just trying to get to my afternoon install. Luckily, the install went perfectly, though the drive home was a nightmare. I honestly believe that three-quarters of the drivers in Houston have no idea what they're doing.

Unfortunately, my afternoon went from bad to worse. I stopped at the library briefly, then came home, where I promptly crashed in a little puddle. At first it was because all the adrenaline from driving had worn off, though then my allergies kicked in majorly. I've spent the better part of the evening feeling quite crappy. On top of all that, we had to replace our brand new cable modem. It's literally only three weeks old, but the storm apparently fried it. So, there was no internet all day, either. As, I said, a horrible, no-good day.
