If CJ didn't have bad luck......

Then sometimes he probably wouldn't have any luck at all.

This past thursday, a 2000 pound object fell on the front if his foot, crushing his big toe. He was taken to the hospital, and they applied a pressure bandage to stop the bleeding. His toe was basically snapped in half, so they had to wrap it tightly to stop the bleeding.

Well, later on that night his foot was turning purple.....I was scared to adjust anything because I didn't know what would happen. Plus, I only wanted a doctor to touch his foot. We went back to the emergency room and the loosened the bandages and his foot started to turn a normal color. I am guessing that when they wrapped it his foot hadn't started to swell completely, and then as the day went on and his foot did start to swell that the bandages became too tight.

He has had to keep his foot elevated since the accident, because if he didn't then he could risk losing his toe. I have felt so sorry for him because he had to miss a dinner he was invited to on Thursday night, he had to miss Loreena McKennit Friday night ( dear GODDESS she was wonderful) then there was my little cousins b-day party Saturday.

CJ is very active, so he has been crawling the walls out of boredom. Thankfully he has a PS2 to keep him entertained.

He goes into surgery on Monday, and there is a good chance that he may lose up to half of his toe. Then he will be out of work 4-6 weeks.....and, it is going to be like wrestling a bear, but I am going to have to make sure he takes it easy. If he were to get a bone infection, then he could lose more than half a toe.

Sooooooo, things have been a bit stressful. He is nervous, and he has every right to be......sometimes when people get stressed they aren't always at their best ( I know I am not) and have had to tell him to settle down or I would hide his crutches and start calling him Pogo.

Anyhoo, I am nervous too. Although it could be worse, like a whole foot or his entire leg that was injured.....it is always worrisome when someone you love undergoes surgery.
