Посмотрела пару хороших фильмов, хочу поделиться. Прослезилась по обоим =)
John Q (2002 года) - Этот фильм хорошо обозначил проблемы с мед страхованием в Америке и мою личную нелюбовь к американской мед.системе. Фильм очень правдивый, местами жестокий. Интересно, как Обама будет решать такие проблемы и чем закончится история Medicare/Medicaid.
In director Nick Cassavetes's gripping social drama, blue-collar worker John Q. (Denzel Washington) finds that his meager insurance won't cover his son's emergency heart transplant. Desperate, he holds a hospital's emergency room hostage until doctors agree to perform the surgery. Meanwhile, gung ho police chief Gus Monroe (Ray Liotta) and hostage negotiator Frank Grimes (Robert Duvall) try to diffuse the situation amid a media frenzy.

Walt Kowalski is a widower who holds onto his prejudices despite the changes in his Michigan neighborhood and the world around him. Kowalski is a grumpy, tough-minded, unhappy an old man, who can't get along with either his kids or his neighbors, a Korean War veteran whose prize possession is a 1972 Gran Torino he keeps in mint condition. When his neighbor Thao, a young Hmong teenager under pressure from his gang member cousin, tries to steal his Gran Torino, Kowalski sets out to reform the youth. Drawn against his will into the life of Thao's family, Kowalski is soon taking steps to protect them from the gangs that infest their neighborhood.
