Well, that is certainly one way to beat the system. I don't really know what else to say about this article other than "hrmmm."
And in case any of you are too lazy/otherwise unable to access the BBC story, evidently a 60 year-old Georgia man shot a postman in order to get a life sentence so that his substantial medical bills would disappear. He just greeted the postman, took his mail, and opened fire. He then drove to the police station, confessed, and ended up getting four life sentences with no chance for parole. In other words his scheme worked.
At least the postman lived.
