This is a real quick story but maybe one of you will weigh in and set my mind straight on this because Im having a hard time compramising. I own a pretty good sized weapon collection. Now these arent all firearms, although I have 3 pistols and 2 rifles (one is an assault rifle... SSSSSHHHH).
Mostly its swords from the martial arts days and alot of other trinkets I accumulated along the way. A couple of viking battle axes (god there beautiful) lots of knives... you get the picture.
Christine (the spouse) always was wary of me having them but took it as part of the whole package. So kyle is 7 and he wants me to show him how to use these weapons (drool!). Christine has reservations "He is only 7 Peter" was one of the comments that stuck out in the coversation but the kicker is she wants me to get rid of the lion share.
Another comment "you dont need all of them, who do you plan to kill anyway"
My eyes darted and I got that look but I digress.
So whats bothersome is her request is reasonable... And while I havent acknowledged it as a valid claim yet I will. However a lot of these items I have actually trained with, used with sparring partners and have hunted with. I man gets to have some toys dosent he? So I am considering giving most of them to my brother save for the fire arms which I will sell (except for the Glock).
So I will keep one viking battle axe, my katana and wakashi and one fire arm. That means I have to give something up, and I am irritate about it, but find it reasonable. Anyway do any of you have spouses/signifigant others with weapons? Do you or they have kids? Whats your solution? (give me something to hope for will you?)
