I have some bad news.

Our cat, Bugsy, is pretty sick. For the past few weeks he has not been eating much at all and has lost a lot of weight (he currently only weights 6.4 pounds and is only skin and bones). We took him to the vet on Monday where he was initially treated for constipation. However, he actually had a kidney infection and has stayed overnight at the veterinarian for the past two nights.

Needless to say, this has been a huge financial burden for me, Peep (meltedpeep) and Casey (ryoup) as we are three currently unemployed university students who have the added costs of going back to school in the next three weeks.

So, to help pay for Bugsy’s vet bills (which are currently $800 and mounting) I am opening up commissions. For a minimum of $10 (but pretty much amounting to paying what you want), I will draw you whatever you want. Nothing is really off limits for me, as we really need some help paying these vet bills so Bugsy can get better. It can be in colour, black and white, or even traditional. Just specify what you’d like and I’ll make it happen.

I’ll be accepting payments through paypal. My account is linked to the email address that is listed at the end of this post. My roommate, Peep, will also be offering commissions to help pay for the vet bills. You can find her post over here.. I will also be leaving this post public, as to help spread the word.

Any sort of help you guys could offer would be greatly appreciated. Also, please help to spread this message by linking it to any friends you think might be interested. Bugsy is a wonderful cat, and we want to see him healthy and home again.

Please email me at a.e.n.murray@gmail.com if you’d be interested. Thank you.

UPDATE August 19th: Bugsy is still at the vet as of tonight (he’s at Clinique Veterinaire Plateau Mont Royal, for anyone interested in fact-checking this post), and most likely will be staying trough til Monday. He is eating a tiny bit, but is still very low on potassium and very dehydrated. They’re afraid he may have chronic renal failure, which eventually results in death (usually in under 3 years).

However, nothing is set in stone yet and we’re staying hopeful. We’ve raised nearly 350 dollars towards Bugsy’s medical bills so far, and we’re unbelievably grateful for the outpouring of support we’ve been receiving! Thank you!!
