i am so sorry!
i thought it about it every single second but we were sooo busy
and our cell phones all ran out of batteries
and somehow the toilet in our hostel was so fucked we couldnt use it (we kept on peeing int he shower) so we had to spend 283049823 years every morning waiting in our room for this guy to give us keys to some place in the hostel where we could pee not in the shower. very complicated plumber's business.

it was one of my major regrets in November 2005.

hey can you tell me specifics about your project? are you taking pictures or are you collecting other proples' images from cell phones? is the work going to be shown? it's so interesting!

haha thats fucked up

but no worries..i had a crazy weekend anyway
i mean getting homework finished and stuff, doing laundry etc..lifethings

i was collecting other peoples pictures

it's explained here

hybrid.concordia.ca/~e_rafi/pakistan.html

and here is what i ended up presenting to the class.

hybrid.concordia.ca/~e_rafi/mobileimages

the kashmir bit is kind of separate. i included it cause they were beautiful images but i was more interested in collecting 'everyday' images.

anyway people in my class and my teacher responded really positively and my teacher said i should apply to have them shown at art matters, which is the concordia art festival kind of.

i printed one of them out, the first one. at 24 x 18 on heavy photo paper and it looked amazing.

holy crap it is unbelievable how beautiful those cell phone pictures are, especially of kashmir! i guess that goes to show the subject matter is more important than the quality of the camera.

when is art matters?

also we are reading salman rushdie in english class so i am having all sorts of displaced nationality identity crises. it's nuts!
