Gaming

Thursday was gaming. First real session. It started with everyone in the submarine. There's two NPCs that are old friends of the captain (Kevin's character). Little does anyone know that one of them (Arthur) has been paid off by the German government, and is going to betray everyone.

So, everyone's in the sub, and they descend, and find Atlantis. I printed off a map of the place, which helped a lot. Then, Arthur sabotaged the electrical system, and all Hell broke loose. Phil is the primary engineer, and his rolls were so bad, it was funny (like rolling d12, d8, and d6 and getting 4's, 6's, and 8's). So, they never found the sabotage. They're in the sub (and this is 1930's, so rather primitive), and I give Amy a note saying "you think you could get into Atlantis from here."

I didn't want to railroad the game to strand them in Atlantis, but I was willing to do that. But, they didn't take the bait, and tried to get to the surface, which meant that Arthur replaced everything so it started working.

So, they took a second trip back, and a third. One of the NPCs was the bank representative, the only female in the group. She was going to be a traitor, but I like her too much. She's also has an adventurous streak, and went with the rest of the group.

So, what I was thinking was going to be a Hollow Earth style, where the people were trapped, turned into an exploration group. But, that's what the players want, so I'm good with that. And, Arthur is still ready to ditch the rest of the group, take the sub, and sell out his friends. Lots of good roleplaying, and the story is interesting. Everyone's getting into character and there's a lot of potential.

Next week, gaming is on Wednesday, and I'll see what I can do to strand the PCs in Atlantis.
