Friday at the VA was rather dull. I only had three patients all day (it's like that when there are six interns workingi'm very glad I work at Livermore on mondays and am busy. I'd be getting irritated if this was all the patients i was seeing. Friday afternoon I had the sitnkiest patient I have ever had. Most of our patients are outpatient and therefore not very sick. This patient was also outpatient, but for some reason smelled like a rare combination of BO and garbage. (lovely) It was an exercise in shallow breathing. Fortunately he was a very nice gentleman. But otherwise an uneventful day at work.
Friday night Greg and I went out for mexican food. I use the term mexican food liberally. the closest thing I've found to somewhat decent mexican out here is On The Border (which is a mediocre chain from Texas ). But for here, they're great. they're especially great when i'm craving a decent margarita and some salsa.
Saturday was Greg's birthday and we headed to Great America. Once there, I discovered my boyfriend is scared of the loopy rollercoasters. WHAT!!??? Yet another thing i learned after six years together. After I got him to go on one (since there was only 1 rollercoaster there that didn't have a loop) he seemed okay. he liked the hanging coasters the best (the kind where you can swing your legs). although, we were a little disturbed on the last coaster we went on which was a hanging coaster...... the shoulder harness on Greg was covered in dried blood.Fairly nasty and did nothing to instill confidence in Greg going on the loopy-twisty-upside-down and then again backwards ride known as Invertigo. We had a great time hanging out together. we laughed the whole day, were huggy (which he's normally not in public), and just enjoying the day together. I took him out when we got home for a gorgeous sushi dinner. For presents I got him tickets to next Saturday's A's/giants game.. an a copy of a video game he wanted from 2000 called pacific general. It's a maritime warfare kinda game he can play on his laptop on his long flight twice a week to baltimore. After dinner we rented the movie Along Came Polly which ended up being really cute. Not cute enough I would have paid 9 bucks to see it. But it was a fun date type movie. Instead of a birthday cake Greg wanted to stop at Cold Stone for ice cream. So we got sundaes to go which we ate during the movie.
Overall we had a fabulous weekend together. I'm so very happy here in California with him.
Now, I'm watching the college world series. GO HORNS GO !!!!
HOOK 'EM !!
