I am taking a survey.

Should I be assistant stage manager for a play my friend is directing?

Pros:
~I think it would be fun to be involved.
~I've always had an interest in theatre and it would be a good way to get into it.
~Socialization.

Cons:
~I don't know many of the "theatre people." That could also be good I guess.
~I want to make sure I can still prioritize my classes and keep fencing. It's 3-4 days a week for about 2 hours at a time. Should be manageable, but if it's not, I can't back out.
~I've never been that great at/comfortable with being in charge of people. I'm not assertive enough to like telling people what to do.

So yeah. Feedback will be much appreciated.

[Edit]
I'm doing it. Performances are Thursday-Sunday, April 13-16! It's called Death-Defying Acts, and it's 3 1-Act plays. I'm working on jsut one of them, "Hotline." I like it, and it just has 5 cast members and is probably half an hour long, so it should be a pretty manageable first time. Yay!
