Festivids recs
I'm so behind with everything - real life and fannish - it's not even funny, but I've managed to work my way through a small fraction of the vids - mainly while I should have been doing other things. :D
They are, of course, all brilliant - honestly haven't seen one yet that I haven't enjoyed watching! - but these are a few of my personal favourites. (I.e., the first ones on my download list after the reveal.)
After All (Sarah Jane Adventures) - MY shiny vid that was made for MEEEEE and is gorgeous and lovely (and yes, I got the name wrong in my original reaction post because I was too excited and full of squee. Sorry, mystery vidder!). Not reccing it just because it was my gift vid, but because it's BRILLIANT and the perfect vid for Sarah Jane. Beautifully done.
We Won't Run (Children of Men) - Gorgeous, beautifully edited, great song choice and really tells a journey.
They Want More (Jurassic Park Trilogy) - Because this is possibly the most genius vid idea I've ever seen. Dinosaurs singing to Elton John, people, come on!
Beat Control (Lilo & Stitch) - Full of joy and love and family. Put the biggest smile on my face. :D
Hook and Line (Superman cartoons) - Lois Lane is awesome in every incarnation. Fact. Gorgeous use of the source material.
Jaded (Velvet Goldmine) - Amazing editing, really captures the tone and feel of the film.
And because why not? and I've seen other people doing it: anyone who correctly guesses the vid(s) I made gets a vidlet made for them in the fandom of their choice. :D Comments are screened!
