Laura and I took a few things over to the new house today, to get them out of the way here. We met the neighbors who very pleasantly introduced themselves and started talking about gardens. During the course of the discussion they made it quite plain (in a pleasant way) that they expected that I'd keep the garden up to their standards.
I mentioned this to my sister. Her response:
"First thing you should do is get an old toilet from someone's garbage, put it in your garden, right on the border of theirs, and plant flowers in the bowl."
She and I make such a good team. My idea was a poorly cast fountain with a little boy peeing, with colored lights playing on it and speakers that blare "Tiny Bubbles" all night.
