I do 1/6 scale modelling, or I try to in my spare time. The little ditty about Illyana in my fanfiction story got my brain to working and, of course, that means it said, "OOOO! Shiny!" and went on its merry way of doing something totally unproductive on my current work. I like the title of Daughter of Time. You can do just about anything with it. Maybe I watched too much Willow or She-Ra or Sleeping Beauty or whatever growing up, but I cannot get this script idea out of my head. And, naturally, my muse ran with it. My husband is actually encouraging me and helping to build the sets in 1/6 scale. Now to find enough dolls (or action figures if you wanna call them that) for the extras.
My husband and I had the same exact thought on what the sorceress should look like. We pictured Maleficent from Disney's Sleeping Beauty. teehee
The general idea: Basic fantasy-based plot-driven Oedipus Rex-type story with an overall Christian theme similar to the Narnia Books
Prophesy: The Lavender-eyed Daughter of Time will overthrow the Dark Lord Isma'il. (needs tweaking)
The Plot: The Sorceress (who wears black and is good) oposes the Sorcerer (who wears white and is evil). The Sorcerer has grown too powerful and to keep the balance, the Sorceress grooms a hero to thwart Sorcerer. The Oracle (who wears gray) tells the evil sorcerer and good sorceress that a child will be born and will destroy/overthrow/kill/neuter him. The Sorcerer wants to kill the child and all who oppose him and remain in power. The child is born. The Sorcerer's Chief Warlord finds the child and brings her to the Sorcerer. Instead of killing her, the sorcerer raises her as his own. The girl-child grows and learns the black arts, the hero becomes a warrior. They meet when they've become masters of their arts. She whups his ass and captures him. ;P They fall in love while he is captivity and she joins the good guys. They mount a big "storm the castle" battle and she then proceeds to fulfill the prophesy with a twist. Instead of killing the Sorcerer, The Daughter of Time teaches him forgiveness (or simply zaps him with a "holy" spell a la final fantasy), and he is redeemed, which is what the prophesy really meant to begin with. They live happily ever after with the hero and heroine getting married.
Production Notes:
One-sixth scale dolls/action figures to play the parts in a "photostory" scenario - still need 'action figure' bodies to do head transplants. 'Action figure' bodies stand on their own. No need to purchase/make more stands.
Asian/Indonesian/Persian/Turkish/Arabic Themed costumes and sets (with exception of Sorceress who will be wearing a gown circa 3 or 4th century frankish garments with a little bit of medieval elements thrown in)
Hubby to build 1/6 scale weapons out of aluminum sheet metal, forged nails or he will order them premade from one-sixth depot.
Hubby to build 1/6 scale buildings with walls that can be disassembled
Turtle to finish script, design and assemble all costumes including 1/6 scale chainmail armor (if necessary), repaint, reroot, and resculpt headmolds (for goblins, orcs and other nasties).
After photostory is completed, depending on the wear and tear of the dolls and the market for them, they will be sold as OOAK on Ebay.
