I'm making a Want-To-Read book list for books to purchase when we get settled into the new house. My books are packed and won't be out the boxes for a while. It's so strange to see empty bookshelves. Well, they aren't that empty. There are boxes on them. >_>;
I've been reading mostly Mass Effect fanfiction lately, and(
Oops. ME fanfiction rant. )
It's good that you really like DAII. It is an enjoyable way to expand the lore of the series. I think I'm more irritated with Anders and the fact that he's well-written enough that I can rage at him instead of Bioware for creating him in the first place. ;)
I'm playing anyway as much as I'm complaining: 1) I own the game - might as well get some use out of it, 2) I deleted my Hawkes earlier this year, so I'd like one to import for DA3 if the import is available, 3) there's not much else to do besides writing - and I'm doing that too (though I have gotten stuck back on researching today), and 4) I want to find out what direction they're taking the series considering the events of the last book (which I haven't read yet, but spoilered myself on the wiki). It looked very intriguing.
I honestly believe they wanted the rage to spark a controversy. The more controversy they have, the more games they sell - unfortunately it bit them in the ass with ME3 and to some extent DA2. (I think? I don't actively participate in DA fandom.) Whether they'll be more careful in the future remains to be seen.
I will look into the rec books. Magical assassins sounds like fun!
