Avatar, what has Shyamalan done to you?!
Okay, so I'd heard rumors that they were working on an Avatar movie. I did not know that it was to be live action. Nor did I know that M. Night Shyamalan was writing/directing it. Apparently there are supposed to be three movies, one for each season.
So, he thinks he can compress a full season into about two hours? Uhm... what?
Also, the actors that have been chosen for the cast, I do not agree with. In my mind, I saw each of the nations as such:
Fire Nation - Japanese
Earth Nation - Chinese and European
Water Tribes - Inuit
Air Nomads - Indian
Apparently, they don't agree. Because the Fire Nation people that have been chosen are all Arabic, and the Water Tribes people that have been chosen are WHITE (and by white, I mean pale as hell white). None of the actors look like they'll actually make their characters look right.
Ugh. I really, really dislike M. Night Shyamalan, but this gives me even more reason to dislike him.
So, I'm going to do myself a favor. I plan not to watch the live action movies. I have all three season, in their box set forms, and I will love on them and praise them and be happy, and cosplay as Katara because she's awesome and because, after a bit of tanning, I can look the part pretty damned well.
On that note, acid_inferno, wouldn't you make a better Suki than terioncalling? Since Suki is about Katara's height, and Toph is about a head shorter than the both of them? I think terioncalling would probably make a better Toph in a group cosplay. Besides, you know how to use fans, so you'd be awesome as Suki. Plus she's got your sort of temperament ^_^
Anyway, I just felt I should rant about the movie, get it out of my system.
