People sure do suck sometimes
The more I think about this the more angry I get. Yesterday I went to the school I work at to get things ready for when program opens next week (the trip was a total waste of time for reasons I won't go into here). While I was there I stopped to see how the garden the Kindergarten class planted in the spring was doing. It wasn't doing well. Apparently it had been thriving all summer, the parent volunteers having done a great job taking care of it, but in the last week it had been vandalized TWICE. The fence was knocked down, the plants were stomped on and thrown about, and it was just a complete mess. The custodian was hopping mad, and I can't blame him. Why would anyone do that? They had to have known it was a school garden, planted and largely cared for by very young children. Believe it or not, the lesson the teacher wanted the students to take from this experience was not 'sometimes people are dicks for no discernible reason,' so input and assistance from local assholes was not needed.
