Robins, Robins, everywhere.
I haven't updated for a while, mostly because I had nothing of interest to say...and really that still holds true. Still, I decided to update for the sake of updating.
A question for anyone on my friends list who also happens to read Batman: Can you recommend any particularly good Tim Drake stories? I don't necessarily mean stories where he's badass (though those are fine) but stories where he comes across as a well rounded character? I only ask because, well, he's always been my least favourite Robin and I recognize that's pretty much ass backwards compared to the rest of the fandom*.It's not that I don't like him (on the contrary, there's really not much to dislike, is there?) he's just never held my attention like the other three. He's always seemed a little too much like a mini Batman (sans the dickishness that makes Batman both charming and infuriating)- tough, smart and with no real negative qualities. I'm attracted to stand out personalities, Tim has always seemed rather bland. He comes across as the 'perfect little Robin' and I find that more irritating than endearing. Plus I always thought he came across as a pretty lousy boyfriend to Steph. Though I was charmed by the fact he's a Blue Beetle fanboy. How cute is that?!
I know I must be missing something, so anyone who can recommend a well written story where Tim comes across as a regular human teenager rather than a perfect Gary Stu mini Batman will be my hero. I want to like Tim more, I liked what I read in Young Justice, but I'm not sure I want to start wading blindly through Robin back issues just yet. I need to narrow the search somewhat.
I had the tastiest chicken curry yesterday after work. Yummy. It almost made up for the fact I had to walk an hour in the rain and my discman died for no apparent reason.
Squall just pushed a heavy Statuette from a shelf onto my hand and it hurts like Hell. I'm sick of him already.
*I love the Robins, so really that's like saying he's my fourth favourite flavour of icecream, it means nothing in the grand scheme of things
