What happened at Fishing Cove?

So, studmuffin Steve and I are engaged now! We got back about 10 days ago from our trip to Cape Breton in Nova Scotia where we backpacked out to a backcountry campground and tied our tent to the tentpad. It was raining, so we downed a packet of lukewarm rice noodles and watched a pod of whales frolicking in the cove. Then it was naptime, in the hopes of the rain stopping. It did! but then it was really windy. Thankfully the tent was tied down, or else I'm pretty sure we would have ended up in the ocean. There was a pretty neat sunset, I was all smiley because we were out in the middle of nowhere, and Steve gave me a ring and we made the whole thing official. We celebrated by constantly waking up throughout the night to check the tent ties, waking up at sunrise to pack up a damp tent in between the bursts of drizzle, almost losing said tent in the wind, then hiking 8 km or so out to the car.

It was an interesting trip.

One of these days I will embed some pictures of it as well, or at the very least a link to the flickr stuff... but I have been lazy and not labeling my pictures.  Listen, I'm trying to plan a wedding, it's a stressful time, okay?!

Oh wait, I didn't answer the title question. What happened at Fishing Cove is.... THERE WERE COOL WHALES FROLICKING EVERYWHERE AND I SAW THEM!!!! *happy dances*

wedding, travel, life
