Hedy Lamarr once said "any girl can be glamorous. All you have to do is stand still and look stupid." This succinctly explains an awful lot of my motivations. Scandals of Classic Hollywood is one of my favorite recurring columns on The Hairpin. Anne Helen Petersen has a book based on the column coming out tentatively in spring/summer 2014.

The last job I had was related to communications engineering, and my boss mentioned Hedy Lamarr a lot so it was nice to get the background on her Hollywood career.

There was also some discussion about her interactions with Howard Hughes which were not mentioned in the Hairpin article at all.
