Lumpy breast funny... or semi-funny.

Saw the doctor today to get a new Celexa scrip and she wanted to palpate my breast that had a clogged sebaceous gland last year. Nothing unusual, my boobs have always been lumpy yet benign. (Fibrocystic breasts are very common in my maternal family.) She commented on their lumpiness today and asked if I'd been diagnosed with fibrocystic breasts ( Read more... )

That sounds scary. O.o Mayhaps you should have regular exams to be sure?

It's not scary, just lumpy. I have regular exams already and the place that does the diagnostic imagery has is incredibly swank. Indirect light, heated tables, blankets... they even warm up the goo they use to help the probe slide around.

Sounds like a heck of a place to get your girlbits mashed by a big vicelike diagnostic machine.

It's a value of normal for me. (:

I just get an ultrasound, which is just like the "seeing the baby on ultrasound" children's television clip, only with a smaller probe and better lighting. A brief portion of the imaging is also done through a slightly floppy (silicone?) pad that looks about the diameter and depth of a petri dish, which led me to crack jokes about vegetarian gelatin last time.
