Miscellaneous rambling: elementary school, books, kiddo napping, free time and it's Friday night.
I have a couple of photos from the kindergarten Thanksgiving program and Laurel's school photo to post in the next couple of days. (I promised Sass I would post that!) Apparently I'm also now the lead room parent, since the other volunteers I've talked to (two of the three) signed up with the intention to only be the lead room parent if nobody else wants the position and hey, I'm available. (:
It might take me a few days as I'm still sewing holiday musical production costumes and Vogon was moved last night to start sorting books out of the study closet into 'keep' and 'sell' piles. I think we can move most of them, but I'm still boggling at The Transputer Handbook (2nd ed., 1989) that he plans to hold onto.
Kiddo napped without a fuss today... after walking home from school with a stop at the playground along the way, dropping her backpack off at home and walking to [big intersection] to cross six lanes and double back up the other side a little bit for an early dinner and lots of playground climbing at McDonald's. I still feel a little squicked out from the smell in there, but the manager that took our order gave us a free order of fries. I told him I hadn't ordered fries when he put them on our tray and he replied that it wasn't a problem and he hoped they warmed us up. (I guess he saw us walking over.) Shortly after we got home, she said she was tired and laid down in her room. Five minutes later I heard her snoring.
I thought about napping myself, but I decided to catch up on my Friends List reading and e-mail, then sit down and do some needlework since Vogon's working late tonight. I'm looking forward to Numb3rs coming on at 2100, although it will be odd to watch it by myself -- who else will moon over Amita and make funny comments about Fleinhardt's quirks with me? Ah, geek love. At least I've got chocolate.
