Amy and Branden's wedding and reception were beautiful; they're honeymooning in Glenwood Springs. A D'Evelyn moment happened at the reception when karaksindru observed that one of the folks with the caterer looked familiar but couldn't place his name; later on, the familiar-looking guy asked him if he'd gone to D'Evelyn. Hi, Seth!
I have hundreds of photos to sort through and will post the best in separate albums for renfest and the wedding. Uncle Jeff, if you're reading this, thanks again for the CD of photos you took. (:
Our return flight to Dallas wasn't quite as swank as the flight to Denver, but our plane's tail had a hawk on one side and a bear cub on the other. (We flew Frontier both ways; our flight to Denver had a duck on the tail.) Laurel slept for most of the flight and chewy fruit snacks did the trick for making her ears pop during the descent. I have a hard time remembering that it's not second nature to her; my ears pop between the Lookout Mountain and Morrison exits along I-70 unless I'm sick.
Laurel returned from visiting her paternal family on Friday with a cold and is rather cranky as a result. Adding to her crankiness, a water main broke around lunchtime so we have to wait to fill her water table. It should be within the next few hours, but that's forever when you're four.
Happy birthday to my birthday mafia: caffeinediary, digitalusrex, greenisgood, grepmaster, kafkadreams, tinder, and wanderingrogue. Local celebration shall commence after the end of the workday; any of you that would like a cross-stitched tin topper or other crafty project of the types I've been doing may put in requests now. (:
