Random locals when we lived in the South were never as cool as the guy that yelled
"LESBIANS! LESBIANS! HEY, LESBIANS! LESBIAN POWER!" at
smurfchick the other day.
It makes me all kinds of homesick for the cold, rocky soil of New England. Funny how that works. I would have given anything to be anywhere but the South when we were there, but now I mostly miss New England for the extended family and food (anything my grandmother made,
D'Angelo's pastrami grinders,
Papa Gino's,
Dunkin' Donuts that aren't an unreasonable distance away) and Colorado for my people and the mountains... and the ubiquity of
Horzion Organic chocolate milk in the cute single-serve packets. I have to go to
Central Market to get those and
Brown Cow yogurt, although the local grocery chains carry regular Horizon Organic milk in half and full gallons. When did I become so granola crunchy?
