Drabble just posted over at
numb3rs100.
I do like emma’s prompts - they always seem to spark off a scene. I may have to try working my way back through the prompt list; doing little drabbles before writing.
It might be a good warm up. Kind of like stretching before exercise (or so I’m told).

Tough Guy (#128 - Bug)

Title: Tough Guy
Pairing/Characters: Don Eppes, Ian Edgerton
Rating: G
Summary: Everyone’s skittish about something
Word Count: 100
Notes/Warnings: A welcome for someone who likes Ian. (‘fred-b and Ian sitting in a tree. S-N-I-P-I-N-G! …hang on, something not right there…)
Disclaimer: Nae mine (more’s the pity)

He’s about to give the signal to execute when he feels Edgerton stiffen behind him.
And not in the good way.

Following the man’s eye he sees a Crane fly meandering its delicate way across the window by their head. He whispers

“It’s just a bug, dude. A daddy longlegs”

Ian’s eyes are full of revulsion as he watches the thin-limbed insect. He replies just as low

“I don’t like them. They skitter”

Then,

“Eppes, if you don’t stop laughing you’re going to give away our position. And if these guys don’t shoot you, I swear to god I will!”
