Slept for 12 hours and woke up feeling entirely not-sick for the first time this week.
Here's a recipe for homemade nose/sinus/chest decongestant that my housemate L. taught me. Because Oregon won't let you buy real decongestants without a prescription. This really works like a charm. Just make sure you have a lot of tissues handy.
Boil a small pot of water on the stove. Add a few healthy glugs of apple cider vinegar to the boiling water. Turn off the heat, tent a towel over your head, and inhale the steam as deeply as you can. It should slightly sting your nose, but not be terribly caustic. If the vapor is too strong, add more more water. If it's too weak, add more vinegar.
Have a bunch of tissues or a sink on hand to hork nastiness into. Repeat.
This will make your kitchen smell like apple cider vinegar, but it will also clear out your sinuses. I think it's a fair trade.
