In summary: I did things.
The weekend was nice. My weekend starts early. On Thursday I went to the Pied Cow for hookah with Galactus and Posie and we received a free banana split that the kitchen staff had apparently made "by accident". Then I went to Dot's for a grilled cheese sandwich and a few too many whiskey sours to celebrate Flint's acing of his bartending exam. I performed, as I am wont to do, a killer impression of a wobbly tyrannosaurus.
Friday I met with Pete for the first time this semester to discuss The Big T. It looks like we're going to move in an exciting new slash-and-burn-and-write direction.
Saturday nothing significant happened and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Cooking, comics, and video games.
Sunday night I went to the Holocene for the first time to see Prefuse 75 with Galactus and P. and C. I drank a bunch of coffee and ended up hopping around (some might call it dancing) in front of the stage all night. I got home exhausted in the wee hours of the morning, but it was totally worth it.
Today was not technically weekend, but it was also good. The Russian language section of my lit class was canceled. I ate a huge chunk of ripe papaya for breakfast. Just scooped it out with a spoon. It tasted like sunshine. I've been asked to be the student host for the creative writing faculty candidates, so I met with Nathalia today to work out the details to that.
And now I'm at my thesis desk, getting ready to read 100 pages of The Destruction of The European Jews.
I think I'm just going to pack as much fun into my free time as possible in order to counteract the bleakness of my classes.
