The Twilight Zone Gathering and Other Things
Okay, well... That was the Gathering that was a lot of different things to a lot of different people.
So from where I sat. (Which was in a dark corner for most of it) I present to you my post Gathering Awards -
To mr_kobayashi, it was the Gathering where the decision to enter the circle brought the retirement of a character to a sudden climactic incident, for incident read explosion. I give you Mr "7 1/2 Minutes" Ritual. For showing dedication to a character concept to the end, I give you the "Seemed a good idea at the time" award.
To Colin, it was a chance to affect everything in a meaningful way. Having heard us give him snippets of info every time we returned from an event and until now been unable to go, it was like a dam had broken and he was able to perform a deluge of activities. Including but not limited to- The two second tent, the look of relief on his face when the *impossible happened* before him. Myre, and associated games. And turning "Orange".
I think the phrase that sums up Colins event is "I'm on fire, I'm actually on fire." (Best he explains it). but possibly more fitting should be "I'm a senior ref. I'm actually a senior ref." So you get the "To hot to handle" award.
*On the matter of impossible tasks and my apparent ability to produce the proverbial rabbit from the hat, after being told that there was no way I could get that the teleport potion in under 10 mins. I did just that! So, Reaver survives to be "Edjera Man" another day. Better luch next time col.*
To Karen and Allen. It was an event of role-reversal. Ki'ana's death on friday night, while not coming as a complete surprise lead to all manner of hilarity and investigation, and a very sore head for her the following day. It did however leave her job as high ambassador open. Someone to fill the post you say? an amdassador to plug the hole? step forth - Peraclese, Stratigos of the Hydra (If his mum lets him out to play - Don't ask.) Allen! So he and Di went about the job of doing Karen's job. But unfortunately did it much better and much quicker, just lucky I guess. So karen gets the "Long time coming" award and allen the "Money where your mouth is." award
To all of my "Wanna-be Dodgy Boys" it was an event of trials, tribulations, revelations and flying nuts. If we could only actually function as a team we'd be an unstoppable force for good. Right now we have a left hand / Right hand issue. I have so many loose cannons I could destroy the faction in seconds. This situation requires more though. So I award them the "Must Try Harder" Award.
For me... ah.. for me the event was mostly on an up.
