My daughter has not, I realize, been properly welcomed to the Twenty-First century. I shall have to do something about this, perhaps a celebration of some kind. Perhaps there are other children in town she could invite, not that any of them are near her station. This tournament is a waste, people should have realized that by now. What is Orichalcos, exactly, Dartz-san?

*wonders if he ought to be suspicious* Why do you want to know?

*almost indifferently, though still polite* Because I've heard of it from a few people now, and the Other Malik apparently has it?

*studying him* Dark Malik does have Orichalchos. *wants to know more about Bakura Ryou now* ...You realize, you're the first person even to notice?

I am...? *looks away, slightly bitter* Most people are happy to ignore things they don't want to see, around here.

People are frequently more interested in their own agendas than in learning from what they see, *is the same himself, for all he won't admit it*, wouldn't you say?

[Apologies for the belated edit; I just thought how to make it read better]

[No worries ^^]

*frowns a little before schooling his features into a more neutral expression* Probably. People are pretty distracted by themselves, I guess, and they don't like to think they make the same mistakes as everyone else.

*doesn't like to think he makes the same mistakes as everyone else* Agreed, yes, ah, Bakura-san. *curious* Most of the important events in life take place out of the world's notice, wouldn't you say?

[E-mail me, won't you? I'm thinking Dartz and Ryou need to get better acquainted.]

*thinks he's unique only in that he makes more mistakes than is normal* I think the important things in people's lives are only important to them, so it's easy for the rest of the world to ignore that it ever happened.

[Certainly! ^^]

*firmly* If you try, you can make other people recognize the importance of what matters to you. *wonders what, if anything, is important to Bakura Ryou*

*shrugs a little* You can make them see it's important to you, but you can't really make them care.

*thinks that with enough force you can always make anyone care about anything* Your tactics perhaps, are not the right ones, Bakura-san?

*half-curls one hand into a fist, rubbing his palm with his fingertips* If you do make people care, it just gives them a way to hurt you. It's probably better if they don't know what matters to you.

*nods, feeling vindicated* Definitely the wrong tactics, yes. *faint patronizing tone* You don't give them the chance to hurt you, Bakura-san.

*looks at him, vaguely curious but more wary than anything* The best way to do that is to stay away from them, then. ...What tactics do you use, Dartz-san?

*thinks regretfully that his tactics have worked better at other times* Force works, Bakura-san. You need to have Power at your command.
