I'm no Odysseus...

But I'm back, from my odyssey. It was just over 2 weeks and I definitely saw some of the most astonishing natural wonders known to man, as well as finally seeing a large chunk of this country, which I've always felt was important before I explored other places. This was also just the first of many more voyages I will take in my future. There is a lot I didn't see, and I vow to myself now, I will not be seeing them alone. The entire experience was one that I'll remember forever and tell my kids about I'm sure. Though I want to do it again, my first time will be the one I base everything else off of.

I saw more than I was expecting but not what I planned either. As would any trip my plans changed slightly durring the course and I think it was as good as it ever could have been, me being by myself and all. I did not go to California like I planned, but managed to see all the major national parks in Utah, which were positively mind blowing. The volume of photographs I took is staggering, over 1,000 digital, and some 13 rolls of b/w film. Plus I took one 25 minute video of my exit through Zion Canyon. I did not get to use my other cameras unfortunately. I did not find the film I needed and it was really too much trouble to take them around with out some kind of help. Oh well, there WILL BE a next time :-)

So I'm back now, and the summer of Charles is far from over. There is still Outter Banks ahead, and a trip to Burlington. Then it's New York City for more than 6 hours on a saturday...think 4 days. OH YEAH! And to top it all off I'm barely spending any money on this all. It's all about do it yourself low budget vacations and splitting the cost as many ways as possible. I'm already planning my next trip and now I know what's out there.

Oh, and if you'd like to see the photos I took, I may post them periodically, but making long posts like the last one just takes too long. I may make a DVD slide show thingy as well, but I have to see how ambitious I feel about that.

The first few days back were ok, and I'm hoping next week will bring some more good times as I have pretty much nothing else to do. Ok I've been trying to write this for three days so I might as well end it.
