Yesterday I went there to drop off my application. Heather was extremely nice and went over my availability and give me some ideas of where I could work. Dairy was my choice when I left, but to come back today for a formal interview. So I get there at 9:00 am sharp and they ask me about the meat department. Now I really don't know anything about dairy or meat so it really makes no difference which area I work in. I say sure, and she calls up the meat guy. He wasn't available right away so (pretty) Heather interviewed me in the mean time. Asked me some odd kinds of questions like how would I define diversity, and customer service? Then what was the hardest thing I've ever had to learn. I guess they were somehow profiling me or something. It was a little strange, at least for the interviews I've ever been to.
So, apparently they liked me a lot cause they offered me a job right there. No deliberating or "we'll call you soon." They wrote it up and handed it to me in like 10 minutes. I was quite pleased with myself, and I'm glad I'm gonna work there. Now, pending the background check, I go in for training as soon as I get back from the beach. It's been a long time since I've have formal company training. IVL was a two week class, which was kinda fun learning how to wrap furniture and carry refrigerators. Now I'll get to learn how to prepare beef and chicken for sale. AND what's more is I'll be trained on all the cooking processes THEY use, so soon enough I'll be a grilling master! You can all come over for sweet bbq later in the summer ;-P
